9.2.2.1.5 SNMP Configuration screen

Go to the SNMP Configuration screen from the Administration screen.

Use this screen to set management parameters for Simple Network Management Protocol.

SNMP Read Community, keystroke: R

• (GET community) Allows GET operations to all portions of the demodulator Controller and

Quad Demodulator MIBs.

SNMP Write Community, keystroke: W

• (SET community string) Allows SET operations to all portions of the demodulator Controller and

Quad Demodulator MIBs.

SNMP Trap Community, keystroke: T

• Defines Community String that will be set in the Community field of all outgoing traps. This field

on the trap PDU may be checked by the network manager application to determine if the trap

came from a “trusted” agent.

SNMP Trap Destination #1, keystroke: D

• IP address where all traps/notifications will be sent. If a network management application is

running in the network, it should be configured to receive traps and its IP address should be

entered here. Supports 2 – Trap Destinations.

SNMP Trap Destination #2, keystroke: 2

• IP address where all traps/notifications will be sent. If a network management application is

running in the network, it should be configured to receive traps and its IP address should be

entered here. Supports 2 – Trap Destinations.

SNMP Trap Version, keystroke: V

• Sets which notification is sent, either SNMPv1 or SNMPv2.
