2.2 Installation
2.2.1 Standard Rack Mount Installation
The UT-4500-A Series Upconverter is designed for installation in a standard 19-inch (48.26 cm)
rack cabinet or enclosure. Figure 2-1 provides a “cut-away” side view of a typical converter rack
installation.
The converter chassis requires 1RU (1-3/4 inches) of panel height space. Adequate air ventilation
should be provided on both sides of the rack-mounted equipment. In rack systems where there is
high heat dissipation, forced air cooling must be provided by top or bottom mounted fans or
blowers. Under no circumstance should the highest internal rack temperature be allowed to exceed
50°C (122°F).
